In 2022, I entered the world of tourism marketing.
My recent role at Chattanooga Tourism Co. I was their Content Specialist and managed several social media accounts. The position was fairly new when I started in 2022, and I wasn’t given any direction.
I crafted the online brand voice and messaging for Visit Chattanooga leisure accounts. Our target demographic per Sprout Social reports was 25 – mid 30-year-olds. Knowing that our city catered to outdoorsy families and young adults, our content needed to meet their needs.
I developed an editorial calendar to share with cross-functional teams and set up meetings to request content from internal departments. I edited short-form videos, wrote all captions, gathered content from festivals or events and maintained our Insta/FB stories active.
I managed our business professionals’ accounts as well. Those profiles were geared toward our partners and stakeholders.
